  1. It’s 7am in the morning. Everyone is busily doing their homework, rushing and scribbling down the answers for their due assignments. “How do you do question 2?”, “Why is it like that?”, “How did you do it?”, “Your answer is wrong, you should do like this.” The class was like a wet market… Those who didn’t understand raised an eyebrow, looking at their friends questioningly. Those who knew, teaches their friends patiently.

Most of the students were busily chit-chatting, either discussing about homework or sharing to others what they’ve done the day before. Also there were pupils stifling a yawn and rubbing their bleary eyes, still wondering if they were awake or dreaming. Of course, there would be students from different classes coming in to visit their friends.

The class is full of enthusiasm with different students around. Some might be hoping for the weekends, and some might not. But anyway, it’s going to be lesson time… So why not start afresh, and start it right?

  2. The sky threatened rain. It was ironic how something that caused so much trouble was one of the most beautiful things that anyone could ever see. Eventhough the sky was grey, the lightning cut through the sky, making the whole scene seem like it came out from a movie.

The trees rustled in the strong wind and the sound calmed my unsettled mind.Without the wind, the air was stiffling, hot somewhat.

The sun set and the sky was pitch black. The sound of thunder rumbled in the distance, and the leaves continue rustling.

The sound of thunder is accompanied by a curtain of rain. The smell of the rain makes me smile, and suddenly i feel better.

  3. Without warning, dark clouds curtained the glowing sun, thunder came marching from far away with increasing tread. The wind was sighing and thrashing in the tree tops and the boughs moaned.Suddenly, a flash of forked lightning and a great clap of thunder came close upon each other.

In a second, it started raining cats and dogs. The rain beat down on the car roof forming a melody along with the clapping sound of the thunder.

My eyebags became heavier while listening to the'melody',soon,i was sound asleep.

  4. The morning was very still and the lovely sunlight carried the faint perfume of flowers and the scent of the lovely classroom.

In an instance, the sky above was full of turmultous, dark, ragged clouds. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning tore across the sky and a peal of thunder followed. The many pairs of eyes which was supposed to be brimming with joy turned out to be showing an expression of a sad drama going on in the classroom. No words could express the secret agony of everyone's soul.

The hordes of dark clouds seemed to be an army of darkness attacking the sunlight relentlessly. Nevertheless, the students still carried on with their work after a momentary pause, as they knew that the sunlight would reappear again as soon as the army of light from the sun retaliates against the army of darkness, as if on a battlefield of light.

  5. The frantic movement of people can be seen everywhere. Men in business suits and ties, women in blouses and skirts. A cup of cappuccino and a laptop go hand in hand. It is the morning rush hour at the Central Business District.

People stare at an enormous LCD screen which shows the current market index. Upon seeing the chart, many rejoice while many cover their faces in remorse. Another screen shows the latest news. Upon hearing it, heated discussions start everywhere.

And as the clock ticks away, the movement becomes even more rapid as people are trying their best to make it to work on time.

But amidst the movement of people, a beggar dressed in rags lifts his hand to ask for spare change. But no one notices him, no one cares.

  6. Thunder came marching far away with increasing thread. Ominous and dark clouds covered the sky.A flash forked lighting and a great clap of thunder came close upon one another. A storm was approaching. Suddenly, big drops of rain beat down from the heavens as everyone without an umbrella scurriedly looked for shelther.

I walked slowly towards the bus-stop as i held firmly to my umbrella hoping that storm would soon be over.

  7. The high sunlit clouds drifted across the clear blue sky. It was a bright sunny day. Seconds later, the sky took a turn for the worse. Sky above was full of tumultuous, dark ragged clouds and a downpour came seconds later. Lightning and thunder raged with fury as a bolt of lightning tore across the sky with a peal of thunder following it. The wind lashed at the trees and you could clearly see leaves dropping everywhere.

You can never step outdoors in that kind of weather, so i could only watch as the rain splatters onto my windows.

  8. A bolt of lightning tore across the sky and a peal of thunder followed. The black clouds covered the sun, leaving the city in a world of darkness. The raging winds rattled the windows violently, threatening to smash them into smithereens. Then, a torrent of rainfall came crashing down as everyone without an umbrella went dashing for a shelter to avoid the onslaught of the rain.

Adria cowered in bed, hiding under her bedsheets while trembling in fear, as yet another flash of lightning lit up the dark sky.

  9. The Sun rose in a pool of crimson and gold, spilling light all over the land and the white clouds. As soon as i got up from my bed, the situation overturned and the sky looked eerie. Now, lightning flashed across the sky and the thunder raged with fury. When I was ready to get to school, the sun was back up hanging gloriously in the sky and i thought to myself: "What a funny weather!".

  11. In the morning on my way to school, golden halo filled the sky, filtered through the clouds as it chased the dark clouds away. On my way to school, I yawned, standing at the traffic light, waiting for the green man to flicker on the other side. Cars drove passed, without knowing what was going on on the pavement. Staring at the green man, I did not realize that it had started to flicker. Coming to my sense, I ran for it. A sudden gentle breeze blew by; sweet scent of the trees had waken me up. Students alighting at the bus stop flooded the entrance of the school. Stood rooted, waiting for the crowd to be cleared, never the less, taking the chance to rest.

  12. From the freezing night, it turned to scorching day as the sun climbed towards its zenith. Sleeping soundly, Shayne like any typical teenager dragged himself out of bed. The high sunlit clouds drifted across a clear blue sky and signaled to Shayne that he was late for his tennis training. Panic engulfed him. His clothes was thrown on the bed as he was finding his outfit. Water bottle, towel and his wallet was stuffed into his bag as Shayne grab his racket and headed for the door. "Mum! Where is my shoe?" he shouted impatiently.
the seconds merged into minutes and the minutes into hours as Shayne waited for the bus to arrive. As impatient as a lover, Shayne called his coach and apologised for his bad time management. Forgivness assured him and kept his head on.

  13. The starry night sky lighted for a second. Soon, Storms of dark cloud covered over the sky. Fallen leaves danced with the wind, which was as rebellious as the sea, blew across the canopy of leaves formed in the park during the day. The streetlight along the pavement flickered in a melody pattern as if it is singing a song. “Pit, Pat” the rain one by one hit the ground. Earthworms come out from the underground to refresh themselves in the rain. Suddenly, a vicious thunder struck one of the trees in the park. The tree split right in the middle and timbered down, blocking the boulevard and hammered the car parallel parked along it. The alarm of the car rang and housing near the park lit up to see what happen.

  15. As the sun set, the few thin strips of clouds on the horizon turned shimmering gold. the evening was very still and the darkness carried the faint perfume of flowers and the scent of the dew-rinsed earth. A sky of mackerel clouds, crimson and amber-tinted. Everyone stared at her with their jaws dropped when she entered the dance hall which was ssaturated with music and sweet perfume.

  16. Darkness filled across the sky. Not a single light could penetrate through the dark clouds. A flash of forked lightning and a great clap of thunder came close upon each. Without warning, torrential rain poured down across the streets. The strong wind lashed and sending the rain to fall sideway. The trees swayed as if they were bowing and welcoming the rain to fall. This extreme weather had caused a lot of inconvenience to the public. I had no such time to wait for the rain to subside and must somehow figure a way to overcome it.

  17. Brushing my teeth above the sink below the window, i heard the brids chirping and the trees brushing against their own leaves, the wind blew a cool breeze against my cheeks.
I spat out the paste, and looked at the scenary before my eyes.
The sky divided itself into 3 outstanding colours of deep burgundy, bright bisque and cool beryl.
"Hurry up! It's 7am already, do you want to be late for school?"
Mother's apaced scream pierce through the air like arrows. Feeling the tension, I hastily dressed myself, cleaned up and succried as fast as i could to the door.
    "Bye mother!"

  18. The dusty room was like a huge blow to the face. It represented everything that no one wanted to remember. It was a sign of life that used to take the place of the wooden chair sitting in the middle of the room. The chair sat without any purpose, yet as if waiting expectantly, for someone to take the shape. The desk lamp was still glaringly lit and it displayed other objects that each brought back a hundred memories to the mind. The room was an honor, a shame but still an honor, for the person it was left behind to. It was a sign of the man who used to sit on that dirty-brown wooden chair, who used to work late into the night under that glaring lamp light, and who spent sixty years of bitterness and only five or six of joy.

  19. Dark clouds gathered ominously overhead and the rumble of thunder warned of an imminent storm. The wind was sighing and thrashing in the tree tops and the branches moaned. A bolt of lightning tore across the sky followed by a peal of thunder. The pedestrains ran helter-skelter down the street as a curtain of rain beat down from the heavens.
I was so glad that i was curled up on the sofa feeling warm and cosy as a faint knocking was heard on the door.

  21. Hues of soft pink and purple streamed across the star-littered sky. A gentle breezed kissed the trees with grace as they swayed away in embarrassment. An arm stretched out, its owner mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the night. A fustrated yell disrupted the tranguil ambience. She dragged her feet back to the wooden cottage with reluctance. As relatives from neighbouring villages gathered to enjoy the festive meal placed before them, she refused to participate in the meal. Her gaze was focused on the stars and their inginuity. But no matter how much she longed for their touch, all she could feel was the chill of the glass pane numbing her fingers... trapping her from her dreams...

  22. Dark grey clouds filled the sky, looming ahead like a heavy curtain. There was a deep rumble in the distance. Streaks of bright light scratched the dark sky.

The raindrops danced on the roads, the roofs and the tops of vehicles. Puddles, big and small, gathered all over the place. The cars made 'swish-swish' sounds as they sped past. Rain blurred the distant images of the buildings.

I strained my eyes to see what lay ahead. The water in my shoes made a squelching sound. The bitterly cold wind stung my face. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a bolt of lightning struck a tree. One of the branches caught fire and the leaves sizzled despite the rain. In fear of being caught in the fire, I raced all the way home.

  23. It was a steel grey morning. I was on my way to school as swelling cumulonimbus clouds swept in with an alarming speed. I knew the rain was pounding down soon, as visibility was drastically reduced in the streets. I held on tightly to my umbrella as the wind was rising and constantly making an eerie wailing sound. Soon after, a bolt of lightning and a shattering crash of thunder all but shattered the morning peace. Then, the first drop of rain spattered on the roads as i scurried to the school immediately, with my fingers crossed.

  24. Beautiful beaches encircled the island. The sun rose in a pool of crimson and gold, spilling light all over the land and the white clouds. As time passes by, it was a grey afternoon with a dull sky threatening rain. Lighting and thunder raged with fury. A cloud, ominous and black, drifted over and released a sudden shower. Everyone at the beach packed their things quickly and ran for a shelter nearby.

  25. The night was a beauty, stars filled the sky, a sight you would never be able to see in Singapore. Here in Wellington, New Zealand, the brightest star, Sirus was shining brightly as usual, the sky was dark enough to see all almost all the stars. Camping in the meadow, away from the city and feeling the breeze, it was fabulous. Suddenly, several shooting stars flew above our heads, we all sat in a cicle to make our wish, it was amazing, we were all captivated by the beauty of the meteor shower, using the light source provided by the stars and our torches, we searched for twigs to create a fire and cooked our food.

  26. It was a grey afternoon with a dull sky threatening rain. The bell rung and you could see pools of people leaving the big metal gates of the school. All the students rushed to the bus stop to seek shelter and to get on the bus before the curtain of rain beat down from the heavens. Soon, the wind was sighing and thrashing in the tree tops and the boughs moaned. A bolt of lightning tore across the sky and a peal of thunder followed. As soon as the bus arrived, the ominous and black clouds released a shower. Everyone charged like the crowds in shopping malls when there is a sale, onto the bus.

  27. As the sun set, the few thin strips of clouds on the horizon turned shimmering gold. The sun shone more kindly now, and the trees that framed the scene were golden and lovely. Alice walked into the dance hall which was saturated with music and sweet perfume. Fireworks blossomed in the night sky, turning to giant flowers of pink, orange and green.

  28. The bright, warm-coloured sun spilled its light over the land and the white clouds. Green grass blew gently in the summer breeze. I paused to look at the gay flowers that rioted in the park; they created a splash of colours. The smell of Mother Nature filled the air. Little children with broad smiles on their faces are running and playing. There are dogs running to catch Frisbees and balls. Couples and families are sitting on the soft, green grass having picnics. And I feel the gentle breeze on my face and running through my hair. The looks of bliss are on everyone's faces.

  29. My neighbour's house was my dream house. The atmosphere of the house was saturated with happiness and warmth. The house was filled with the aroma of porridge and the tinkling of bells hanging around the neck of the cats. On the walls, there were many photographs of people smiling happily. The floor was always sparkling clean everytime i visit. All the lights in the house gave off an orange glow instead of typical white florescent light. It enhanced the overall warm atmosphere and made me felt fuzzy inside. Their house inspired me to work hard to make my house as beautiful as theirs.

  30. The wind was sighing and thrashing in the tree tops and the boughs moaned. A bolt of lightning tore across the sky and thunder came marching from far away with increasing tread. The countryside was awash with sheeting rain, howling with boisterous winds, and robbed of all colour by the ashen skies. The recent rains dampened the wild flowers in the fields and they now looked battered and bedraggled. But, after the freezing night, it turned to scorching day as the sun climbed towards its zenith. The sun rose in a pool of crimson and gold, spilling light all over the land and the white clouds. The high sunlit clouds drifted across a clear blue sky.

  31. The cold air hit my face and the hair that cascaded down my back flew up, revealing my bronzed skin. The salty smell drifted into my nostrils and the crashing of waves boomed into my ears simultaneously. When was the last time I ever felt so relaxed?

My eyelids fluttered open and, ahead, loomed hues of red and orange. Another day was coming to a close, and a fresh start that god had prepared, was awaiting me. Imeediately, my fingers dug deeper into the sand, grabbed a handful of it, and thrust at the hues, ruining the beautiful picture before leaping up.

  32. Night was not as welcoming as the day. Cold winds blew hard, forcing my makeshift tent to rock. The rain splattered on the roof while some leaked through, splattering onto the earth around me. Shadows form spooky shapes under the moon light as the trees swayed in the wind.

Unlike the humid warm day in the tropical rainforest, night was a cold hell. The chill froze my spine no matter in what manner I wrapped myself in the thickest blanket I brought with me. I shivered in the dark raining night waiting for the storm to pass.

Suddenly, the going back to the asylum seemed like a more welcoming option for me.

  34. A gust of wind swept across my face, as I stepped out of my house. The sky was a delightful expanse of azure blue, and the clouds have no place in the morning sky as the majestic sun reigned supreme. Dews on the blades of grass sparkled in the sunlight; the air seemed scented with the sweet aroma of flowers. Birds which were well-hidden in the trees could be heard singing.

I stopped by the nearby convenience store for a granola bar, and waved goodbye to the friendly shopkeeper, continuing my journey to school.

  35. The waves were gently rolling in on the crowded beach, the white, frothy peaks caressing the empty stretch of sand, before rolling back out again. In and out they go. It's like the most wonderful lullaby. I felt relaxing, soothing and calming. My mind was drifting, my body floating. I'm in a deeply place of serenity.
I was resting my back on the soft, white sand like all the others were doing. It has been long since i had time for such a vacation.
